I feel like it's not just college where I face challenges. Ever since I came to the US, there have always been obstacles and challenges in front of me. I always said that it was going to get easier when I got older and finished High School but no nothing really got easier. In my freshman year of college, I was out of state at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA. It was very tough because I'd never been away from my parents for that long. Slowly, I got used to life being an adult. Due to my family's financial circumstances and other things, I had come back to the state for school. My first year at NCC was one heck of a ride and I mean one heck of a ride. It felt as if the Gods above were trying to stop me from going to school. Mom got really sick at one point, my younger brother had surgery, Dad had a big medical issue, and then one of our cars broke down so transportation became an issue. At one point, I felt like giving up and dropping out of school but I realized my parents brought me here for a better education so I could live a better life so I tried to finish strong. Being a first-gen, it's hard because my parents can't really help me with anything, and what makes things even more difficult for me to this day is the fact that I am a very introverted person. After last semester, I know that there will always be challenges no matter where we go. We have to live a positive life even when there are hard challenges. Going to the school football game for the first time was really fun and a very good experience.
